No doubt about it, life for a single teen mom is tough. But facing the hardships of young motherhood under the glare of the spotlight is an altogether unique challenge. Luckily, 19-year-old celebrity pals Bristol Palin, currently competing on Dancing With the Stars, and Maci Bookout, star of MTV?s reality show Teen Mom, are taking on parenting as a pair. ?I feel like Maci and I have the same situation,? Bristol exclusively tells In Touch. The young mom to 21-month-old Tripp first met Maci at the Candie?s Foundation Event to Prevent teen pregnancy in NYC this summer where, says Bristol, ?We talked about experiences we?ve shared.?
Months later, the teens are still in close contact. ?The other day, I saw an episode of Teen Mom, and then I texted her, saying, ?Oh my gosh, I totally went through that exact same thing!?? says Bristol, who adds that ?the show doesn?t glamorize teen pregnancy; it?s the raw truth [of ] how difficult it really is.?

What Beef? Ciara DOESN'T See Keri Hilson And Has More Important Things To Focus On
Well maybe Keri Hilson was right. In her "Turnin Me On" remix ft. T-Pain and Weezy, she supposedly dissed Ciara saying "your vision cloudy if you think you the best," and now Ciara owns up to the cloudiness. In a new interview, Ciara pretty much dismisses Keri and all their past drama saying she has better things to focus on. I guess she can't see Miss Hilson with her blurry vision. Ciara recently opened up about the alleged beef between her and Keri Hilson saying she has more pressing matters to attend to so she won’t be beefing with Hilson.
In a recent interview with BoomBox, Ciara said:
“In reference to the Keri situation, I’m so in a different space mentally I can’t even bring myself to do that. It’s not [important] to me. There’s just so much stuff to get out of life than that. There’s so much more for me to accomplish in my career. Personally, I’ve decided that it doesn’t make sense to do that.”
Ciara said fans shouldn't believe everything they read:
“When you read about people having differences, it’s case by case. Sometimes there [are] songs that make people think that, sometimes there are rumors. You just never know where they come from.”

Chipped nail polish is causing a flutter, again.
(The beauty-obsessed among us will recall a brief period in 2008 when undone manicures were a tip trend, as recorded in The New York Times.)
Just yesterday, American designer Amy Smilovic -- the designer behind the fashionista-loved little dress line of Tibi -- uploaded a picture of her wearied and worn chipped-up red nail polish to her Facebook page. The big deal? She paid someone to paint her nails to look that way -- for a wedding in Georgia.
"I have a perfectly sane reason as to why I would request a screwed up manicure," starts the designer in the photo caption. "When I was in London this summer, I had drinks with an editor from Vogue. She was of course tremendously chic and amazingly put-together. But her nails were red. And they were chipped. And it just made her so much more approachable somehow."
The stylish designer then says that the eyebrow-raising trend repeated itself just a week later, when she was having drinks in Milan with a fashion editor from Elle, who -- you guessed it -- was sporting the same chipped red manicure. "And somehow that just screamed, 'I'm put-together, I love red, but really, who has the time?'" quips Smilovic.
(By the way, where do we sign up for her job? Jet-setting around the globe for drinks sounds pretty chill to us.)
But while the designer is known for outfitting a gaggle of young celebs in her flirtatiously fun print dresses, not all her Facebook fans are buying this trend.
"Early April Fools, right?" asks Caren from Georgia. "You know what really says 'Who has the time?' No polish at all."
Amanda from Texas has similar reservations. "I want to be for this new red movement, but my southern roots are screaming no. Shouldn't your personality and character speak louder than your nails?"
Then there are the readers who by virtue of being in the right place at the right time, are spot on trend.
"I've never felt so legitimized and stylish! P.S. I've got the toes to match..ah, snap!" says Kendra from Michigan.
For the record, an editor here are StyleList is sporting chipped nail polish -- in gray. It's decidedly not on purpose, but while she was lamenting her manicure laziness, she's now feeling pretty cool about it.

Halle & Olivier Live It Up in Paris with Salma Hayek
? Halle Berry had company in Paris - and not just new beau Olivier Martinez. The couple spent the day outside of the city with Salma Hayek and her daughter Valentina on the grounds of the actress's husband's family estate, Chateau de la Mormaire, which is just west of Versailles. The group, which also included Martinez's dog Sheba, strolled through the lawns and then sat down for lunch. The night before, Berry and Martinez hung out at Hayek's apartment in the city, before heading to dinner at Restaurant Thoumieux.

Adrian Grenier steps behind the camera
He's become a famous actor by playing a famous actor on Entourage, and now, Adrian Grenier is stepping further inside the house of media mirrors by turning his camera on the paparazzi in his new documentary, Teenage Paparazzo (airing on Monday, September 27 on HBO at 9 p.m ET), a thoughtful exploration of the culture's complicated relationship with celebrity. "I don't think you can be too meta!" Adrian tells In Touch. Adrian talks about documentary participants Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Matt Damon and Alec Baldwin, and how being "Vincent Chase" on TV helped prepare him for real-life fame.

Milan Fashion Week has come to an end, and as the top Italian design houses like Prada, Giorgio Armani and Gucci unveiled their spring masterpieces, makeup artists and hairstylists were prettying up the models in noteworthy hair and makeup looks.
From eye-popping lip color to hippie strands, and classic-meets-contemporary updos to sculpted, bronzed faces, read on for the most bellissimo trends from Milano.
Bright Lips
Statement-making pouts in coral, pink, and red popped up on the faces of models who strutted down the Spring 2011 runways of Fendi, Gucci, and Marni. From matte to glossy finishes, bright lips are clearly a must-have during the warm-weather season. To complement the peasant girl blouses and bottoms at Fendi, Peter Philips amped up the soft and pretty faces with electric pink pouts. Gucci girls vogued in luminous, bronzed skin and orange-red lips perfected by Pat McGrath. And to balance out the geometric eye makeup spotted on Marni models, Tom Pecheux created this shocking shade using Lipmix in Orange Pro.

Hippie Hair
Natural, long-flowing waves reminiscent of the '60s and the '70s trailed down the Spring 2011 runways of Alberta Ferretti, Roberto Cavalli, and Emilio Pucci -- adding structure to these simple Woodstock-esque 'dos. Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau was the master behind two of these hair looks. "To complement the easiness on the runway [Ferretti], I created natural bohemian hair, yet still keeping each woman unique by simply enhancing her natural texture." Guido's go-to product: Redken Velvet Gelatine 07 Cushioning Blow-Dry Gel. To recreate the matte waves, place a generous amount of the gel into your hands and work into damp hair, applying it by scrunching it in sections concentrating at the roots. Finger dry hair with a blow dryer, scrunching sections towards the scalp and lightly twist pieces away from the face.
For Cavalli, the Palau created long, stick-straight strands with a center part. "The collection has a 1970s feel to reference Cavalli's start in fashion in 1970, so we came up with a retro style for the hair to complement the sexy, head turning designs and innovative hemlines and fringe, but still making her look modern and cool." Palau started by fashioning a messy center part, wetting hair, and applying Redken Align 12 Protective Straightening Balm before blow drying straight. Flat iron strands and finish with Vinyl Glam 02 for separation and shine.
Hairstylist Lugi Mureno was influenced by Brigitte Bardot and perfected a "desert goddess" look by using John Frieda Volumizing Mousse to create body before curling hair with a 1-inch curling iron.

Sleek Updos
There are a few hairstyles that will never go out of style, and the chignon is a classic. This ladylike updo was worn by models on the Spring 2011 runways of Versace, Prada, and Jil Sander. Guido Palau added a contemporary touch to this 'do for Versace and Prada by playing with accessories and shape. "Donatella and I discussed this look quite a bit; as typically she loves big, voluminous sexy hair for her show. Through this is departure from that, we wanted to show that hair kept close to the head that draws attention to the face can be just as high glamour as big hair. And the accessories, like the pieces of PVC plastic, can add a bit of fun into such a glamorous, high fashion shape." To nail this look at home, apply Redken Hardwear 16 Super Strong Gel in sections through entire head, using a comb to create a smooth texture with no part. Smooth hair all the way back and pull together in a low ponytail secured at the nape of the neck. Take a piece of PVC and secure around the bun with an elastic, allowing the ends of the square piece to "stick out." Set the hairstyle with Glass 01 Smoothing Serum.
Pretty young things at Prada wore lacquered hairdos with that instantly conjured up the Roaring Twenties with a flirty flapper-inspired finger-wave. "The two knots at the back of the head emphasize the playful girl yet the high gloss, shine and finger waves make it glamorous and impactful on the runway," said Palau. Create this look by making a deep side part and applying Redken Hardwear 16 Super Strong Sculpting Gel. Next, create finger waves on the forehead with a tail comb. Divide the back of the head into two sections with a straight middle part and twist each one into a small knot at the base of the head about two to three inches apart, so you can still see a bit of the knots from the front. Secure knots with bobby pins and set the style with Redken Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray for hold and Glass 01 Smoothing Serum for that wet and shiny look.

Bronzed Babes
Golden, bronze skin has become synonymous with warm climates. And on the Spring 2011 runways of Etro, Moschino, and Dolce and Gabbana, cheeks and eyes were sculpted in a radiant new way. To accentuate the hazy, violet lids worn by Etro models, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury dusted MAC White Gold Pro Pigment Powder on top of peach blush to create a sun-kissed glow. Carrying on this color on the sides theme, Moschino girls were upper cheeks were dusted in a rusty-brown shade that accentuated their pouts. There are a few hairstyles that will never go out of style, and the chignon is a classic. This ladylike updo was worn by models on the Spring 2011 runways of Versace, Prada, and Jil Sander. Guido Palau added a contemporary touch to this 'do for Versace and Prada by playing with accessories and shape. "Donatella and I discussed this look quite a bit; as typically she loves big, voluminous sexy hair for her show. Through this is departure from that, we wanted to show that hair kept close to the head that draws attention to the face can be just as high glamour as big hair. And the accessories, like the pieces of PVC plastic, can add a bit of fun into such a glamorous, high fashion shape." To nail this look at home, apply Redken Hardwear 16 Super Strong Gel in sections through entire head, using a comb to create a smooth texture with no part. Smooth hair all the way back and pull together in a low ponytail secured at the nape of the neck. Pretty young things at Prada wore lacquered hairdos with that instantly conjured up the Roaring Twenties with a flirty flapper-inspired finger-wave. Create this look by making a deep side part and applying Redken Hardwear 16 Super Strong Sculpting Gel. Next, create finger waves on the forehead with a tail comb. Divide the back of the head into two sections with a straight middle part and twist each one into a small knot at the base of the head about two to three inches apart, so you can still see a bit of the knots from the front. Golden, bronze skin has become synonymous with warm climates. And on the Spring 2011 runways of Etro, Moschino, and Dolce and Gabbana, cheeks and eyes were sculpted in a radiant new way. To accentuate the hazy, violet lids worn by Etro models, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury dusted MAC White Gold Pro Pigment Powder on top of peach blush to create a sun-kissed glow. Carrying on this color on the sides theme, Moschino girls were upper cheeks were dusted in a rusty-brown shade that accentuated their pouts. Ten episodes into the fourth season of "Mad Men" and the plot is thickening to nail-whittling levels, not in small part due to the unpredictable and revolutionary '60s setting.
While Peggy's quasi-beatnik wardrobe choices have had us captivated for a few episodes, the whip-smart copywriter was absent this time round, leaving room for the other dazzling women to really shine.
First up is the ever-dashing Joan, who is slowly starting to switch out her signature jewel-toned skintight dresses for, well, skintight floral dresses and printed blouses tucked into high-waisted skirts. While one might imagine '60s florals to be loud and bright, we're loving Joan's versions, which are relatively toned down.
In the opening scene, the red-haired siren dons a silky white tie-neck blouse with a gentle yellow, peach, and black floral pattern, and later wears a floral frock in a beautiful medley of burgundy, plum, turquoise, and pine green.
Other sartorial highlights include Betty dressed down in a casual white eyelet tank, loose gray plaid shorts, and her straight hair pulled back into a simple pony, and Peter Campbell's very pregnant wife Trudy in a hilarious pale pink powder puff of a nightgown featuring tulle tiers and a Lady Gaga-worthy sky-high hemline.
Aside from the killer getups on the main cast of characters, we loved when Don Draper and his British colleague Lane Pryce visited one of the storied Playboy Clubs.
Within the cocktail clubs, of course, are the Playboy Bunnies, who, feminist politics aside, are absolutely to die for in sculpted and high-waisted silk bustier suits in a variety of Skittles hues, accessorized with matching bunny ears, white collars and cuffs, and fluffy rabbit tails.
Since it's revealed that Pryce is dating one of the bunnies, we're hoping to get a few more peeks into the club as season 4 rages on. (If that doesn't happen -- and even if it does -- we are so buying Chronicle Books's new "50 Years of the Playboy Bunny" tome. Swoon!)

Survivor: Nicaragua?s Shannon: ?I?m not a homophobe?
Before his torch was extinguished on last night's Survivor: Nicaragua, fans witnessed a fiery Tribal Council that is sure to go down in Survivor history? courtesy of latest evictee, 30-year-old Shannon Elkins. Steve Dumain, creative director of luxury handbag line, Be & D, never really wanted to do a secondary line - and he still isn't into doing it. But he is launching a whole new, lower-priced (!) brand altogether called Roccatella. Named after and inspired by his "modernly chic" 98-year-old grandmother, Dumain's newest venture will land exclusively on QVC this Thursday at 7pm.
"Selling on QVC is such a nice opportunity to reach a different woman," Dumain tells StyleList. "This line is for a modern, chic woman who wants the feeling of a particular trend, but without too much of that trend."
And, while he does see this customer as a more mature woman, it's far from "old lady." For the launch, QVC will offer nine different bag styles priced from $200 to $300 including satchels, totes and hobos in a variety of colors - black, metallic pearl, gray, and army green to name a few. Each bag is made of super soft, but extremely durable calfskin, which Dumain personally sought out on a recent trip to Italy. "I've done my research and this is the absolute best leather you will find at this price point," Dumain stressed. "And, they are all great everyday bags, meant to be carried day to night."
Dumain said that while none these bags retail for more than $300, he didn't sacrifice the details that go into these bags. You may not find the massive amounts of construction seen in a Be & D bag, which retail from $800 to $1,300, Roccatella bags all have a great deal of value - zippered or flap front pockets, gold tone or nickel hardware, interior pocket mirrors, and key leashes.
And, if you miss the QVC offering, no worries - Roccatella bags will be opening up to other retailers for spring 2011.

Nina Garcia on Tim Gunn's 'Crack-Smoking Judges' Comment

Crack-smoking judge? Not fashionably expectant mother-to-be Nina Garcia!
Ever since "Project Runway" mentor Tim Gunn protested that the reality show's season 8 judges must be "on something," StyleList has been dying to get one of the panelists to respond (or take a field sobriety test).
Garcia not only stands by the controversial "PR" judging, but says the upcoming winner may be Christian Siriano-level talented.
"I think the winner just might have what it takes," she hints.
The busy Marie Claire fashion director, who just penned "Nina Garcia's Look Book," took time from a "typical" day to chat with reporters.
No Regrets: Garcia speculates that Gunn called the judges "crack-smoking" because of his close workroom relationship with the contestants, but she critiques them the same way she might a couture show. "We are judging them for their work... I don't know if John Galliano had a nervous breakdown [before a show] or didn't. I'm just an editor."
Siriano Makes It Work: The season 4 "PR" alum is the show's most successful winner because he's got the "personality, tenacity, creativity, age... and he is primed to work very hard to go for it," says Garcia.
Not Everybody Hates Michael Costello: "He's just a really sweet guy but they've decided to jump on him," she says of the season 8 contestants. "It seems he is not such a good technical sewer, but more of a draper... but he's done some really beautiful things."
She's Not a Fan of Neon: One trend you'll never see Garcia wear is "anything neon and short. That time has come and gone!"
Something's Missing From Her Maternity Closet: Garcia, who is expecting a baby boy in December, would have loved a challenge in which the designers make her a maternity frock, but "by the time the word got out [that she was pregnant], the season was already planned."
Imagine the withering looks she might have given the contestant who made her a cheap-looking tent dress!

Lindsay Lohan looked like quite the lady dressed in a black top, oversized blazer, white pleated skirt, dark sunglasses, and triple-bow-embellished Christian Louboutin platform heels when she rolled up to the Beverly Hills courthouse today.
Lohan may have made quite the fashion statement, but she failed to make the right impression on Judge Elden Fox as she was denied bail and taken into custody after breaking probation by failing a pair of drug tests following her release from rehab, as our friends over at PopEater report.
Judge Fox issued the order without hearing arguments from Lohan's lawyers, and the perpetually-troubled actress could be held in custody until a hearing in late October.
It was her first appearance before the judge, who issued an arrest warrant earlier this the week to compel Lohan to appear. He previously outlined that he would sentence the actress to a month in jail if she failed a drug test. However, it was believed that unless Lohan requested immediate sentencing, the judge would set bail and release her until a formal probation hearing.
Instead, Fox denied bail and set Lohan's next court appearance for Oct. 22. According to reports, the shocked actress was handcuffed before being taken into custody.
The 24-year-old "Machete" star took to Twitter on Sept. 18 and admitted that she "did in fact fail my most recent drug test" and that she was "prepared to appear before Judge Fox next week as a result."
According to the terms of Lohan's probation, a failed drug test means she could spend another 30 days in jail.

While last night's season opener of "Grey's Anatomy" just wasn't the same without Izzy, Katherine Heigl has been busy with yet another movie premiere -- and yet another hair color.
The 31-year-old star appeared at a press conference for the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation yesterday with tresses that were not just blonde, but ones that tipped the scales towards a much lighter, platinum version.
Heigl has certainly not been shy about switching up her 'do over the years, reverting all the way from blonde to brunette and back again several times over. And even though this Hollywood mom graces the October cover of InStyle with her new lighter locks, yesterday was her first public debut.
As much as we think this actress is a definite beauty, the editors at StyleList breathed a collective sigh of relief that she ditched the big brown bouffant hairdo she was sporting for her last movie release.
Heigl's new film (where she dons golden blonde locks), "Life As We Know It" opens October 8.

The Material Mom exclusively tells In Touch that Lola can't dye her raven locks until she?s 14 ? and that dating is out of the question for the high school freshman. ?No!? Lola answered when asked if she has boyfriends ? as Madonna shook her head and grimaced in disgust ? at the launch of their juniors clothing line, Material Girl, at Macy's in New York. Despite the rules, the mother/daughter pair is close, even holding hands as they posed on the pink carpet at the event. ?I think she?s doing a really good job!? When it comes to Katy Perry, Sesame Street is hot and cold! Following Internet outrage over a YouTube preview of the September 27 premiere of the PBS children's show, in which the "Teenage Dream" singer is showing cleavage in a flesh-colored top, Sesame Street producers have chosen to pull Katy's appearance (which features her singing a kid-friendly version of her hit "Hot N Cold" with Elmo) from the broadcast.
?Sesame Street has a long history of working with celebrities across all genres, including athletes, actors, musicians and artists. Sesame Street has always been written on two levels, for the child and adult," said Sesame Workshop producers in a statement. "We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or caregiver. We also value our viewers? opinions and particularly those of parents. In light of the feedback we?ve received on the Katy Perry music video, which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on YouTube.?

Paris Hilton does it again. E! News reports that the celebutante has accepted a plea deal that includes pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug possession and obstructing an officer.
In return, she avoids being charged with felony cocaine possession and gets two consecutive six-month jail sentences suspended. Translation: Paris won't have to spend a night in jail.
"We fashioned a resolution which would give us complete control over her future," Clark County District Attorney David Roger told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "If she does not toe the line and stay out of trouble, she will do one year in the Clark County Detention Center."
Paris reportedly will enter her plea on Monday. She will be on probation for one year, have to complete a drug abuse program, pay a fine of $2000, and complete 200 hours of community service (brace yourself for those pictures- LOL).
Does this sound fair to you or do you want to see Paris serve some time? Honestly, I think you could stick Paris in jail for five years, and it wouldn't change a thing.

Not even 30 years could come between Brooke Shields and her Calvins.
On the Sept. 22 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the 45-year-old model turned actress revealed she's still able to slip into the same pair of denims she sported at age 15 in her controversial Calvin Klein Jeans ad.
"They didn't look pretty," she admitted, "but they fit."
The racy 1980 ad opens with the young Shields whistling "My Darling Clementine" before suggestively declaring, "You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing."
Shields told DeGeneres, "That was one of the first times they had sort of smart and provocative television commercials," adding that the promo was originally intended to be played in movie theaters.
The actress's mom, Teri, kept the two pairs of jeans used for the ad, and the star recently donated one pair to the Met for a fashion retrospective. "The other ones," she said, "I tried to pour myself [into]." And? "I got those suckers zipped up!"

Of course, mother-of-two Shields confessed, she didn't quite look perfect in the pants.
"They came up to here!" she said, motioning under her chest. "They were so high. I looked like a sausage in them, but I was going to get them zipped up if it was the last thing I did, so I could say that I fit into them!"

Paris pleads guilty
Paris Hilton pleaded guilty this morning to two misdemeanors in her drug possession case. The socialite will not be going to jail, however. Rather, she received a year of probation, which means if she is arrested for anything other than a minor traffic violation, she will spend one year behind bars. Paris must also complete a substance abuse program, pay a fine of $2,000 and do a minimum of 200 hours of community service. The judge also pointed out to the hotel heiress that "The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria."
Paris was arrested on August 27 when she was pulled over on Las Vegas Boulevard with cocaine in her purse.

Not every gasp at the Burberry Spring 2011 show was aimed at Christopher Bailey's ridiculously covetable gold-studded biker jackets.
StyleList was on the scene as the crowd -- which included Sarah Jessica Parker, Alexa Chung, Anna Wintour, and Serena Williams -- uttered a collective gasp as one of the catwalkers took a tumble right before she made it backstage.
The short-haired stunner had appeared skittish and a tad wobbly as she made her way down the runway wearing a short leopard-print minidress and a spiked leather jacket.
Sure enough, the model's towering stiletto heels caused her to hit the ground just as she was about to leave the catwalk.
At least she's not alone -- models also hit the floor at the Z Spoke by Zac Posen and Bernard Chandran shows.
And we spied another model at the show stepping out of her heels and carrying them in her hands before continuing down the catwalk... better safe than sorry!
We're just thankful none of Charlie Le Mindu's nude models tripped and fell -- things could've gotten ugly!

There has been much controversy lately over the alleged "lightening" up of Gabby Sidibe's face/cover for ELLE Magazine. In the magazine's defense, the Editor-in-Chief, Robbie Myers, gave the E! network an explanation.

ELLE Magazine's editor-in-chief told E! there is no controversy regarding Gabby Sidibe's cover photo. Myers says Gabby appears brighter/lighter because there's a different style of lighting used which obviously makes her look different when compared to a red carpet photo.
The magazine's publicist put out a statement saying:
"We have four separate covers this month and Gabby's cover was not retouched any more or less than the others. We had 25 cover-worthy subjects in our portfolio and we chose Gabby because of who she is. We shot this as a story of exuberant young women changing the world. If you take a look at the portfolio, each of the women were shot in different ways and for different reasons."
But the controversey doesn't end there, people are also complaining that ELLE should explain cropping Gabby at her chest, while other cover images featuring ladies like Megan Fox and Lauren Conrad were full-length.

When it comes to the game of Survivor, no one wants to be the first to have their torch extinguished, but that distinction went to 48-year-old Wendy DeSmidt-Kohlhoff last night as season 21 of the hit show began.
Wendy, a goat farmer from Fromberg, Mont., played a quiet game for the three days she survived in Nicaragua after taking her husband's advice to not annoy people. "I stopped being myself," Wendy tells In Touch. "I listened to what he said, and he was totally shocked watching the first episode. I don't think he thought I'd take it to heart and was devastated at the result. That hurt."
With the two tribes this season split into the over-40 crowd and the under-40s, Wendy found herself singled out by fellow contestant (and former NFL coach) Jimmy Johnson as being one of the tribe's weakest links. She might have played it quiet at first, but after her Espada tribe lost their first challenge to the La Flor tribe, Wendy became very vocal at Tribal Council, telling her tribe why she might be an asset in the future: a move that ultimately may have led to her demise. With her torch extinguished, Wendy began the trek through Survivor's first graveyard. "Oh my God, how horrible!" admits Wendy. "I totally got lost in it and ended up wandering for some time. I wished one of the graves had been open so I could have laid down and rested. It was eerie."

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Phoebe Philo may be referencing iconic '70s styles these days, but Stephen Burrows, the pioneer of disco-era jersey dressing, showed his own authentic version for spring. In a charmingly intimate presentation at his small Garment District showroom, Burrows stayed true to his roots with a collection featuring Studio 54 jerseys -- think Bianca Jagger or Iman, oozing feline sex appeal -- mixed with clean-lined wovens, all perfect for easy summer dressing.
Burrows' inspiration was NYC: the hazy colors of the sky and the bright lights of Times Square. As the speakers blared Big Apple-themed songs -- The Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City" and a slow, sultry cover of "New York, New York" -- a cast of six models rotated in and out from behind the curtain. The designer started with the jerseys, printed with an acid-hue kaleidoscope swirl that evoked a late-night whorl of taxicab taillights and LCD billboards. Most notable here was a trim, floor-grazing shirtdress, softly belted at the waist.
He moved on to clean-lined wovens in cotton sateen and silk. A simple white skirt with coral-trimmed slash pockets, slung low over a matching tie-neck bodysuit was another standout example of '70s-tinged dressing. And a flirty little white silk dress, knotted at the front, was perfect for the modern disco diva's night out. All very pretty, easy, and wearable. That, along with the fact that Burrows' tried-and-true '70s aesthetic is perfectly in sync with fashion's current obsession, should mean an extra jolt of retail action for the designer come spring.

DESIGNER: Imitation
INSPIRATION: Lightness and humor, Coco Chanel's use of jersey
TOP LOOKS: A floral lace minidress and cape had a boudoir Little Red Riding Hood vibe; the unfinished hem of a blush and sage-gray frock swished with ethereal innocence; a tissue-thin white camisole balanced a billowing long chiffon skirt.
ACCESSORIES: Minimal. Aside from jeweled headpieces with long lace veils on the first few looks, girls walked barefoot and unadorned, aside from their red lips.
WHO WAS THERE: Fashion-scene fixtures like Purple's Olivier Zahm, artist Terence Koh, and actor-jewelry designer Waris Ahluwalia
WHAT WE THOUGHT: This is actress-designer Tara Subkoff's first collection after a recent battle with brain cancer, and she told Harper's Bazaar that her goal is to "see everything a bit lighter and with humor." Tonight's show was nothing if not light, as models sauntered barefoot down the runway in a procession of lace, chiffon, and silk garments, many with rough, unfinished hems.
An AstroTurf runway and melancholy carnival projections warned the audience against too earnest a reading of the nymph-like models. And the virginal whites were turned on their heads by a procession of cigar-smoking men that emerged in what felt like a postcoital victory lap at the show's end. That wink of surprise atoned for some of the more unflattering jersey-knit dresses. Still, overall: Lightness? Check. Humor? Double-check. Subkoff's first outing under the new Imitation label has already accomplished both of her goals.

Isaac Mizrahi Spring 2011 Fan Club, Johnny Weir's Furry Friend

"These are rocks from Isaac's driveway in the Hamptons!" said supermodel Veronica Webb of her necklace, sitting in a purple Isaac Mizrahi day dress in the front of his Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show.
The necklace combined large brown stones with diamond-cut cubic zirconia. "This was a surprise for me," she said of the gift.
"Isaac is original, he's witty, a master constructionist, and he treats women in a way that is so respectful and full of awe and so flattering. I've always said that Isaac is like your best girlfriend and the man of your dreams rolled into one!"
Figure-skater Johnny Weir walked into the show wearing what appeared to be a bedazzled baby raccoon draped over his shoulder.
"He is an inspiration to me," Weir said of Mizrahi. "He is such a mainstay in New York fashion and in American fashion, and I am so honored to be here and to be wearing a part of his world right now."
Er, so what is that, exactly?
"It is a stole with a rhinestone-encrusted face and I really enjoy it, and it's got little feet and everything."
Did you steal the stole?
"I did not. It was sent over this morning by Isaac himself."
Of trends this season, Weir said: "I love that designers are throwing it at us again: Dennis Basso with the alligator dress. Alice + Olivia, with the completely embellished cocktail dress, is gorgeous. And Isaac has done an amazing show. I think people need not to be afraid: You live once. If it's fashion, spend it. If it's a house, spend it."
Webb, too, said she saw a return of "superluxe fabrics" to the runway this season. So does that mean American fashion has emerged from the recession?
"I don't know," she said, indicating her jewelry. "If we were coming out of the recession, this necklace would be real rocks!"
